Bud Adams was the orignal owner, and one of the founders of the American Football League. The Oilers had decades of success in Houston, first playing in football stadiums around Houston, then in the Astrodome, before moving to Nashville in the 1990′s and changing their name to the Tennessee Titans.

Bob McNair is the current owner and founder of the Houston Texans. Entering their sixth season, expectations are high for competing for a playoff spot.

Houston Texans QB Matt ShaubQB Matt Shaub ranked as one of the top players at his position in 2009, and looks to replicate that success in 2010. Brian Cushing, a rookie in 2009, was named Defensive Rookie of the Year, but will be sitting out the first four games of this season. With expectations high, the early season schedule should be telling.

With the Colts, Redskins, Cowboys, Raiders, Giants, Chiefs the Texans will be favored in at least half of these early season games for the first time in their brief history, These games are all before the BYE week in October. The schedule gets much more difficult AFTER the bye week with the Colts, Titans twice, Jets, Chargers, Jaguars twice, and the Eagles all waiting in November, December, & January.

Reliant Stadium At NightAttending a game at Reliant Stadium is fun for kids, fun for teens, and fun for adults & seniors beginning with pregame tailgating parties. The gates open as early as 8am on gamedays as dozens of people drive in their customized vehicles to grill, eat, drink, and some even to watch the game in the tailgating parking areas. Tailgating has become one of the main reasons to attend a Texans game.

Inside the stadium are local favorites such as Papa John’s Pizza and Prince’s Hamburgers, as well as dozens of food & beverage stations throughout.

The Texans season ticket holders are a diverse group, with many from outside the City of Houston. When filled to capacity, as every game has been, the noise level inside Reliant Stadium is almost deafening.

When you mix in the cheerleaders, the food, tailgating, and the GAME, Texans games are a must-see event in Houston!
